Car - 1 / Jonesy - 0

So I purchased a road bike to get to and from work rather than taking the bus. I figured its not only a savings of $30 a week but it's also an awesome way to burn an additional 300 calories a day as well and great for my cardiovascular fitness to boot.

I've had the bike for about three weeks tops with no issue but got clipped by a car coming out if a drive-thru dry cleaner place this morning. He didn't look very well but his vision was obstructed a bit by the exit way of the building. I managed to avoid any serious injury and just got a few bruises.  I ended up flipping my bike and landing on his hood. Probably more damage to him than me, not that I'm really sorry.

Anyway, lesson learned and I will take extra caution around that bike path area for future reference.  Other than that, the day was great. I'm three days in to a new food plan. I'm averaging 6 meals a day with a breakdown of 172P / 167C / 43F (avg 1770 calories a day). I'm spacing the meals out about 2-3 hours a day as I usually do and adding in extra carbs about an hour before my workout. I have heaps of energy but am periodically really hungry about 30 minutes before some of my meals.

I did a Dexa Scan about three weeks ago and was shocked to discover body fat percentage had sky rocketed to 26.4% up from 17% in August.   This is of course after dieting down towards 11% at the end of September (although I did not get a scan then so not sure of exact measurements).  So in four shirt months I more than doubled the amount of fat in my body.  As my coach would say, GOOD EFFORT!!!

So back to a more cleaner way of eating and putting in 3-4 sessions of cardio a week to bring that fat level down. Ideally would be good to maintain around 17% as my goal.  I will get another scan in about 8 weeks.  Until then, one day at a time.
